While being a parent may truly be the most difficult but most wonderful job, you don't have to compromise your romantic life because you want to be an effective parent. Because of limitations particular to managing time for their little ones, some spouses find it almost impossible to preserve a healthy love life in their marriage.

Here are some suggestions on how you can have romantic moments in your marriage despite the time-consuming nature of parenthood:
• Prepare romantic events with your spouse. Days inside the house watching over your kids can really drain you and you may not have enough time and energy to venture forth and have fun. But at least every two weeks, have a leisurely and sensual date to keep the love burning and the eagerness between you and your mate. Make it a quality couples event, where it can be a romantic dinner or a picnic for the two of you.
• Sneak out for a lunch when you can. Shared meal times at the house can focus on the family, while your separate lunches can truly be conducive for a healthy and lasting marriage you both can work on.
Go for a meal at your husband's cafeteria or bring your home-cooked meals to the office so you can save a few dollars for your next night out.
Whether you decide to be casual or to be fancy, what is special is that you get to spend a meal together, just the two of you.
• Cuddle and talk after the little ones have gone to bed. When the little ones are off to sleep, sometimes moms and dads go off to sleep as well. But take some moments for some quiet but partner-focused times where you can find some time to solidify your relationship.
• Share everyday chores and jobs. Do a crossword together. Go to market together. Work on the garden together. Sit at the table and watch the news together. Take each opportunity as a chance in improving your household and to grow your relationship as well.
As you are giving it your all to be an exceptional parent and grow a good relationship with your offspring, you should also be tireless in making your adult relationship the best it can be. All family relationships call for regular maintenance and support from both spouses.
As with every relationship that's important to you, you ought to give the same status and attention for both.
But most of all, always keep in mind first to be kind to yourself. If your needs are met, you can meet the needs of your relationships. Only by loving and taking care of daily needs will you be able to come up with ways to grow your most important relationships from day-to-day.
